Woo, Level 2 kicked my butt! But no complaining here cause I loved it. Now Level 1 seems dull and I'm so excited for level 2. My favorite part so far is the warm-up and the skater. As Jillian would say "I'm well on my way to being shreded"
I didn't do anything extra today cause I wanted to save all my energy for the actual workout. I'm glad I did cause I needed all my energy today.
What i ate today:
breakfast: weight control oatmeal - banana flavored
dinner: carne guisada with rice and green beans

30 Day Shred - Day 7
I made it to day 7! I never thought I would last this long!! I definitely see a difference in my stamina. I don't get out as breath as fast. I still have trouble doing the push ups. I hate the jumping jacks, I don't know why I just do. I'd rather do jump rope than jumping jacks. My favorite thing is the Chest Y's and the Rowing thingie. (my mind is drawing a blank right now)
Today I bought some weight control oatmeal that I am looking forward to for breakfast in the morning.
what i ate today:
breakfast: fiber one bar - oats and caramel
lunch: hot dog (no bun) and a banana
dinner: Ramen noodles
All in total less than 700 calories, thats kinda good right?

30 Day Shred - Day 5
Whew! I would've thought I would have gave up by now, but I'm so excited that I made it to Day 5! It's definitely getting easier, which probably means I should move to Level 2. Although, I think I may wait til Day 8 to start Level 2. In addition, I also did some high knees today. I only did 25 but it's a start.
What I ate today:
breakfast: Raisin Bran
lunch: 4 chicken nuggets (my boyfriend bought them home for me cause he was full)
dinner: fish and rice
I may have said this already, but I'll say it again. I know I'm not following a real "diet" and I'm not eating the healthiest food. However, I am eating MUCH smaller proportions than I did before. For that reason, I am proud of myself.

30 day shred - Day 4
This morning after I dropped my boyfriend's niece off at school, I stopped by Kmart to weigh myself. I was at 158. Last time, I weighed myself I was at 161. So I am definitely making progress.
This afternoon, I went for a short walk to clear my mind. It wasn't a long walk, just a short walk to be active while I'm thinking.
This evening, I purchased a waist trimmer belt to wear when I work out. $5.00 at Wal-Mart. I think it's a good investment because my tummy is what I want to focus on. I also purchased a tape measure. My stomach (at my belly button) is currently 36 inches.
What I ate today:
Breakfast: Bowl of Apple Jacks
Dinner: 1 baked chicken drumstick, rice and beans and green beans.

30 Day Shred - Day 3
I continued 30 day shred on Monday 5/24. I only took one day off.
Before I did my workout, I went outside and attempted to do some kicks like I once did in high school. Didn't turn out exactly as I would have liked but I don't have the same body as I did in high school. I was able to do 5 counts of straights and I did one set of levels.
Then I went inside and did Day 3 of my workout. I'm still on level 1 but today I did the advanced level one.
What I ate:
Breakfast: 1 sausage, 1 hard boiled egg and 4 crackers
Dinner: a salad and 1 slice of pizza

30 Day Shred - Day 2
Today was day 2. It was a little difficult today, could be because I didn't take a break between day 1 and 2. But even though it was difficult and at times I was ready to give up, I pushed through and finished the workout.
I waited til later in the day to do my workout. Just seeing if I'll feel as weak as I did yesterday. It's been about 4 hours since I finished my workout and I did not have the weak-shaky-about-to-pass-out-feeling, so that's good.
What I ate today:
breakfast: Chocolate Bunches of Oats w/no milk :( We were out and I didn't know
lunch: grilled hot dog
dinner: a small plate of rice and beans w/a pork chop and I only ate half of the pork chop :) Yay me!
snack: Yogurt Nut Mix

Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred - Day 1

So after seeing xFLYNNIEx (Tammi) posting her first 3 videos of her experience with 30 Day Shred. I decided that its time for me to get in shape too. Motivation is always good, and knowing that Tammi is doing this should keep me motivated to keep at it. So yesterday I went to Wal-Mart and picked up the DVD for $9. I did not pick up any hand weights because I already have some.
So today, was my first day of doing the workout. I did level 1 - modified. Its a 20 minute workout, 3 intervals of 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abs. I really worked up a sweat and after the workout, my whole body was shaking. I haven't worked out this hard in almost 8 years! Regardless, it felt good. My body is going to feel so sore tomorrow!
I have not done an initial weigh-in because I don't own a scale but I'm sure I will be able to see the difference in my waistline and my stomach. When I do get a chance to check my weight, I'll write a post about it.
I'm not following the official diet on the website. At this time, it would be too difficult to buy and cook separate meals just for me simply because my boyfriend and I don't live on our own anymore. However, I will make changes where I can and will definitely be cutting out the soda.
What I ate today:
Breakfast: a bowl of Chocolate Bunches of Oats and a banana
Lunch: tuna and crackers
Dinner: 1 grilled brat (normally I would have at 2 or 3)
