TAG!! I'm it!!!

The little things in (blogger) life make me smile so when I was tagged by Jenna, I was one happy girl. Especially since I don't get tagged often. So here goes...

- You must post these rules.
- Each person must post 11 things about themselves on their blog.
- Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post and create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
- You have to choose 11 people to tag and link them on the post.
- Go to their page and tell them you have linked him or her.
- No tag backs.
- No stuff in the tagging section about 'you are tagged if you are reading this'. You legitimately have to tag 11 people.

Jenna traced this back a few blogs, and the 11 facts seemed to have disappeared. Even though it's a little tough to come up with 11 random things, I wanted to stick to the rules and keep it going:

11 things about me

1. I'm a born and raised Florida girl but haven't spent a lot of time at the beach.
2. When I was little, I used to pretend I was an Olympic gymnast even though all I could do was a cartwheel and round-off.
3. My first year of dancing was my freshman year of high school. I fell in love with it and wish I could have did it my whole life. Sadly (and obviously) I don't dance anymore.
4. My first job was at Dunkin Donuts. I worked there for 3 years and so far that's the longest job I've ever held.
5. My favorite job I have ever had was working at a Disney resort and I worked there for 2 1/2 years. The only reason I left that job was because I moved out of state.
6. When I was younger one of my favorite things to do was play school. I taught my dolls and stuffed animals dreaming of being a teacher one day. Now I have an Associates degree in Early Childhood Development so I'm on my way to becoming a teacher.
7. I'm Disney obsessed. Just about anything Disney can instantly lift my mood.
8. I hope one day to be a mother but I have this fear that it will never happen for me.
9. Sometimes I can be very sensitive and insecure which leads to me crying over the small stuff.
10. When I was about 9 or 10, I fell head first into a swamp at Gatorland.
11. I'm a foodieaholic, I wish I had the metabolism of an active teenager so I could eat whatever I wanted with no worries.

Jenna's questions for me to answer.
  1. What is your favorite candy?
This actually changes often but I would have to say is any chocolate/peanut butter combination.
  2. Which would you rather do without makeup or nail polish?
Hmm, that's a tough question because I like both so much. I have no problem leaving the house without makeup (or nail polish for that matter) on but if I had to choose, I'd rather do without nail polish because nails aren't usually what people are looking at when you talk face to face. Does that make sense?

  3. What music genre is your most tuned in?
My music taste has not changed from when I was a teen. Lame I know but I still prefer to listen to *NSYNC and Britney, etc from my teen days. I also listen to R&B and hip-hop on the regular.
  4. What is your favorite season?
My favorite season is Autumn because the weather is usually nice, not too hot and not too cold.
  5. Would you rather shop online or in a store?
To be honest, at this point I prefer neither because I miss when I could just go to the store pick up just about anything out and not worry about if it was too tight. I guess if I got down to a size I was comfortable with, I'd be happy shopping again.  So to avoid disappointment, I think I'd rather shop online.

  6. What is you favorite nail color/finish?
My favorite nail color is pink and my favorite finish is slight shimmer.
  7. Define Beauty.
I gave this question a lot of thought but in the end I would define beauty as being satisfied with what makes you who you are, accepting you for you and not comparing yourself to others.

  8. What makes you the happiest?
My boyfriend and Disney make me happiest.
  9. What is your favorite beauty brand/product?
My favorite beauty brand is Wet n Wild because their products are affordable. I've been using WnW products for a long time and they are my go to brand. My favorite beauty product is a tie between nail polish and eyeshadow.

  10. What is the most important trait you look for in a friend?
The most important trait I look for in a friend is honesty and sense of humor. I don't want a friend who is going to stab me in my back and I want to be able to laugh with them.
  11. What is your biggest pet peeve?
I have a few big pet peeves...but I think my biggest pet peeve is when someone says they will do something and they don't do it or making plans and backing out at the last minute.
My questions
1. If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
2. Do you prefer watching scary movies during the day or at night or not at all?
3. Would you rather win $5000 jackpot or $5000 shopping spree at your favorite store?
4. When something is bothering you and someone asks you what's wrong, is it easy for you to share or would you rather keep it to yourself?
5. Do you find it easy to talk about your online life with real life friends?
6. If you could spend 24 hours in any theme park, which would it be?
7. Bungee jumping or sky diving?
8. Do you pick out/put on your pants or shirt first?
9. High end jewelry or fun accessories?
10. What is your favorite and least favorite household chore?
11. Do you know how to change a flat tire?

I tag...

I know some of the ladies I tagged don't blog often, or may not even want to do this tag but I figured it would be fun to pass it along.

Nail Polish Tag

Img from The Polished Pixie

I saw this tag posted by Shally at The Polished Pixie and there is also a YouTube version going around too but since I usually don't get tagged for anything and I didn't want to miss out. I decided to do it on my own.

Rules:
 (for people who get tagged)
Answer the questions

by leaving a comment on their page

1. How many nail polishes do you have?
I currently have approximately 259 nail polishes in my collection. That is including top coats, base coats and frankens.

2. What is your favorite brand of nail polish?
My favorite brand of nail polish would have to be Sinful Colors because of the variety and price. When I first started to collect nail polish, Sinful Colors was my go to brand. In fact, in 2010 I cleared out my collection and only kept Sinful Colors and China Glaze polishes. Shame on me. Click here to see my nail polish collection in May 2010. It definitely has grown since then.

3. Do you like crackle polish or do you hate it?
I like crackle polish but I don't love it. I was somewhat late in the game to adding crackles to my collection.

4. What was your first nail polish brand?
Well if we're talking way back when...My first polish was Bon Bon. I loved getting those in grab bags at birthday parties. Although as a kid I wasn't allowed to wear colored polish out of the house (mom's silly rule) In 2004, I started to buy nail polish here and there, I bought mostly NYC and Wet n Wild. I had an Easter bucket full of nail polish but that got left behind in storage in 2008.

5. If you are going to have a nail polish line, what are you going to name it?

I probably wouldn't start a nail polish line (too much of a headache) but if I did it would probably be called Starry Nails.

6. What nail polish colors do not compliment you?

I wear any color but according to my boyfriend,  he does not like brown nail polish on my nails.

7. What nail polish colors do compliment you?
As I said, I wear any color but I think soft pinks or deep peaches look best on my nails.

8. Name two of your best nail art friends.
As somewhat of a newbie in the nail blogger world, I do not have best nail art friends yet. But I do have several Twitter/YouTube beauty friends who I adore.

9. What was the best nail polish gift that you ever received?

If I want a nail polish (nothing extreme or expensive though), I usually get it for myself.  However, when friends or family buy nail polish for me, I always get so excited and their gift means a lot to me so it's hard to choose just one nail polish gift. Last summer my boyfriend knew I wanted to add some crackle polish to my collection and got me two of the Sally Hansen Crackle Top Coats as an early birthday present. My friend Yuilya hunted down OPI Teenage Dream and sent to me as a late birthday present. My "mother-in-law" gave me the money to buy several polishes from the China Glaze Let it Snow collection. My friend Dollie sent me some Ulta Minis and other beauty items for Christmas. Also for Christmas my boyfriend, dad and "brother-in-law" (and his family) all surprised me with nail polish gifts. From all these wonderful gifts, it's hard to choose the best one. (Sorry for the long winded answer.)

10. Make a speech thanking the blogger who gave you this tag.
I did this on my own because I did not want to miss out on the fun.

11. What is your second favorite nail polish company?
I'd have to say Wet n Wild because it is affordable and easily attainable. Plus they often have some awesome collections.

12. Glitter or no Glitter?
Glitter as an accent nail. Although lately, I've been going cray cray on the glitters and using them in full out manis.

13. OPI, China Glaze, or Essie?
This is a tough question for me because I don't own a lot of nail polishes by these brands like other nail bloggers/lovers. Because of that I don't think I could answer this question fairly because I only have a few of OPI and Essie. Based on what I buy, I have to choose China Glaze. Although I would love to try more of the other brands.

14. When do you change your nail polish?
I change my nail polish when I get bored or when it starts to chip or when I need something new to post about.

15. What's your favorite color on your nails?
Pink!

16. Darks or Brights?
Brights!

17. What are you wearing on your nails right this moment?
On my left hand is corset nails and on my right hand is NYC Little Italy with 5 different swatches Claire's Precious Metal glitters (post coming soon).

18. Matte Nails--In or Out?
I bought a bottle of Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love but have not used it often. So I would have to say matte nails are out although I have seen some designs on Pinterest that would be fun to recreate.

19. French Manicure?
I love how classic and professional the French Manicure looks. To me it looks best with acrylics (which I won't be going back to) or longer nails. I like how the modern(?) French Manicures look with a pop of color. If I was at a job where I couldn't wear bold colors (like when I worked at Disney) I'd go with the French Manicure.

20. Favorite Winter Color?
Revlon Perplex or China Glaze Velvet Bow

Since I wasn't officially tagged do this, I won't be tagging anyone else but if you want to do it. I'd love to see your answers. If you want me to link your post, just let me know.

My Ultimate Cleansers Tag

I was watching Aladynevertells (Lia's) newest video "My Ultimate Cleansers Tag" I mentioned in my comment that I don't have a specific facial routine so it wouldn't be effective to a video but I could do a blogpost. Then this morning she tweeted me and said I should do a blogpost about the cleansers I use. Therefore I was tagged do it, right?

Anyhoo, like I mentioned I don't have a intense facial routine. in the past I've used products like Noxzema, neutrogena, Clean & Clear and even store brands. I buy whatever my pocket can afford at the time. Currently, I am using two products interchangeably. The products I am currently using are Palmers Skin Success Eventone Complexion Soap and Purity One-Step facial cleanser.

Palmer's Eventone Complexion Soap was purchased while I was in Puerto Rico on a budget. I paid under $4.00 at a farmacia up the road from where we stayed. I originally picked this soap out because I was worried about my face becoming two-toned from the harsh sun. (I didn't want a really dark forehead and normal colored cheeks.) It cleans my face well and doesn't have a harsh odor so the smell doesn't burn my nose. Only bad thing is my face feels dry afterwards but when I was in PR, my face was super oily and that was a better alternative.

Philosophy Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser was purchased for me by my dad from Sephora. Its gentle and cleans thoroughly leaving my face soft and with a good fresh feeling, not at all drying. A little bit goes a long way with this product (and that's good sense its so expensive). I use this on the days when I don't use the complexion soap.

So that's it. Plain and simple.

(Tag) Kreativ Blogger Award - 10 facts

I was unofficially tagged by Olivia. She has a great blog, be sure to check her out. I love looking at the sweets she bakes.

Here's 10 facts you may or may not know about me.

1.) I will be receiving my associates degree in January for Early Childhood Education. My next educational goal is to receive my bachelors degree to become a kindergarten teacher.

2.) Growing up, I wanted to be a pediatric nurse or NICU nurse. However, I realized that I don't have the stomach to give children and babies shots.

3.) My first time flying was in 2009 when I went to Puerto Rico. Before that I was terrified of flying. Now it doesn't bother me (as much) I'm only nervous during take-off and landing.

4.) My favorite dishes to cook are pasta dishes. The possibilities are endless.

5.) I was born two months early on my father's birthday.

6.) I didn't get my drivers license until I was 19 in 2003 (although I had my permit since 2001) because I was nervous to drive and terrified to drive on I-4. Even once I got my license I only took back routes and side roads for the longest.

7.) I only wore dresses growing up becausem my mother forbid me to where pants due to our "church rules" and religion. Little did she know, that once in middle school I would change into jeans that my friends gave me to wear. I hated feeling like an oddball.

8.) I was a clumsy child, my name could have been "walks into walls" but I became more "graceful" after beginning dance classes my freshman year. (Although at times, I still can be clumsy.)

9.) My biggest regret was moving out when my dad remarried.

10.) Yesterday, a "dream" came true for me. One that I have had for about 13 years. I got a response from Justin Timberlake. Yea, so maybe it was only a one word response and on twitter but hey, I guess some dreams really do come true. lol
