Twinsie Tuesday: Polish from first swap

This week's Twinsie Tuesday has digging into our memories to recall a polish from our first swap. For me, it wasn't too difficult since I haven't done many swaps. My first polish swap was done with my twitter friend Mallory at the beginning of this year.

Mallory lives in Hawaii and didn't have access to Sinful Colors Cinderella so I offered to send it and a few other Sinfuls to her. She sent me some Island Girl polishes, which can only be found in Hawaii or Vegas. I've already featured these already but here's a look at the pink one since pink promotes Breast Cancer Awareness. (and I love pink!) This is Island Color, it has metallic pink and silver mini glitters and slightly larger magenta glitters. I normally wear it as an accent but I went all out with a full mani.

Thank you again Mallory for my Island Girl polishes!

Matte Pink & Shiny/Glittery Accent

Sometimes when I post pictures of my manicures, the pics are taken specifically for the purpose of the blog. That was my intent with yesterday's Matte Magic post. Then I ate dinner and I was actually liking matte*n*a Fairytale as a matte polish.

So for my Saturday NOTD, I decided to just change the accent nails and keep the matte pink. On my  accent nails is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Exotic Green with one coat of Milani Gems. Then on my thumb, I have Island Girl Aloha Surf. These glitters look similar to OPI Rainbow Connection. Now I don't own Rainbow Connection but Swatch and Learn has a great comparison post on Rainbow Connection compared to Gems. From the looks of it, if I layer Gems and Aloha Surf together, it looks pretty close to Rainbow Connection.

It should be said that Matte*n*a Fairytale had awful tip wear. I painted on it Friday evening and Saturday morning I looked at my hands and it looked as if I wore for days instead of overnight.

Naughty Franken and Island Girl

Since I have both Revlon Perplex and Naughty, I decided to franken Naughty by adding some China Glaze Prism, Finger Paints Asylum and some other random colorful glitter. It turned out really nice with subtle glitter. I wonder how much of a pain it would be to take it off. My accent nails I added Island Girl Island Sunset (thanks Mallory). The last step of layering for these pics was the addition of Maybelline Violet Water. Although in the last picture it looks darker, it really didn't do much difference.

*Island Sunset was a gift/swap from Mallory. The other 2 polishes were purchased by me.

On Wednesdays we wear Pink! - glitter and in the spotlight pink

Not much to say about this week's Pink Wednesday. I wanted something that will dry quick since I planned to go to bed soon after. I used China Glaze Full Spectrum and Island Girl Island Color. When that was dry, I added to coats of OPI In the spotlight pink.

Nail Mail: Swap Goodies

Last month, I did a swap with my twitter friend Mallory. There were a few Sinful Colors that she wanted that she didn't have access to so we decided to do a swap. Here are the lovely polishes she sent me. Island Girl  is a new brand to me and I don't have access to it but now I wish I did. I've already had a chance to play with all the pretties but haven't actually swatched them just for blog pictures, so be on the lookout for those. Two of these pretties look similar to the Zoya fleck effects, that I've crossed them off my wishlist.

From left to right: Aloha Surf, Island Volcano, Mahalo Dream, Island Sunset and Island Color.

Thank you so much Mallory! It was fun swapping with you!

WnW Heatwave and Island Girl Mahalo Dream

I want to start off this post by saying a HUGE thank you to my 70 followers! I never thought I would get over 50. I appreciate all of you and I hope in the near future to be able to do something special to show my appreciation.
It's about that time of year where I wish we were having a heat wave in Wisconsin. Although once the heat actually comes, I'll probably be wishing for cooler weather. Anyways, today I have a fun bright polish to share. Wet n Wild Heatwave, it is a gorgeous coral-red sheer jelly. It is a perfect Spring or Summer color. On my accent nails, I went with Tammi's style wearing the accent color on my two center fingers. I am wearing Island Girl Mahalo Dream (Thanks Mallory!).
