Madam Glam Nail Polish Swatches and Review

Hey everyone! I was contacted by a new to me company, Madam Glam to do a review. Along with the review, I also have a coupon code to share for 40% off. Just enter MerryChristmas at checkout valid until December 26.

Madam Glam is a growing cosmetic brand based out of New York. They have gels, nail polishes and color changing gels with a formula that is cruelty - free,  5 free and vegan.

All swatches are were done with two coats of polish. Each swatch is shown with and without flash. So let's get started. Up first is Dusty Navy. It's a light navy creme that is opaque in just one coat but I typically apply two coats for good measure.

Next we have Dark & Classy. It's a blackened purple creme with a very shiny finish.

Another Glass is a deep berry wine with tons of shimmer. It's perfect for the holiday season without being the traditional colors.

Next up is Wine Divinea magenta-berry shimmer

Last but not least is Cinderella Shoes, a transparent base packed with purple and holo glitters. Even with one coat the glitter was densely packed. If I don't wear this for Christmas, I'll definitely have it on for New Years or for my baby shower.

I originally intended to swatch Cinderella Shoes over each polish but because of the density of the polish I only have it over Dusty Navy. I feel like this is a stand alone polish.

Do you see anything you want to try out? I definitely recommend Cinderella Shoes and Another Glass. All the polishes applied easily and had good opacity. If you're interested in purchasing these or any other Madam Glam product, check out the Madam Glam website and don't forget to use the coupon code MerryChristmas that is valid until December 26.

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor Product Review - Influenster Love VoxBox

When I received the Influenster VoxBox at the beginning of March, I was shocked and excited to find this Gillette Venus and Olay Razor inside. I've used Gillette razors before, so I knew this would be a good product.

This is what Influenster had to say about the Gillette Venus & Olay razor. "Gilette Venus & Olay are coming together to deliver a gold standard in shaving with the new Gillette Venus & Olay Razor! Olay Moisture Bars help lock-in moisture to your skin, while Venus' five blades shave you close."

This razor is amazing! The five blades really do give you a close shave and has a nice design so it doesn't slip. I love that this is an all in one product, so it eliminates an extra step in the shower. This left my legs feeling so incredibly smooth and moisturized, I did not need lotion as I typically do. This product retails for $8.99-$10.99 for a refillable razor and one cartridge. The package of 3 replacement cartridges retail for $14.99-$19.49.

While it is an all in one product, the price is a little high for me but if I spot a good deal on this, you can bet that I would snatch it up. This is definitely a product worth trying.

For more information about the Gillette Venus & Olay razor be sure to check out their website

TruvĂa® natural sweetener Product Review - Influenster Love Vox Box

During the first week of March (March 5 to be exact), I was excited to receive my first Influenster Vox Box! I grabbed my camera and filmed my opening of my Vox Box (with the help of my cameraman, my boyfriend :)) In the upcoming days, I will be posting reviews of the products I have used so far. Which at this point is everything but the Kiss Nail Dress.

Today's review is on Truvia. On the card included in the Love Vox Box, Influenster wrote "Truvia natural sweetener is refreshingly uncomplicated, made from the best tasting part of the Stevia plant. Sprinkle this no-calorie sweetener on your grapefruit. Spoon it in your coffee. It won't end up on your conscience or your thighs!"

I tried Truvia in my Stash Tea and my coffee. I am a girl who loves extra sweet coffee. I was pleasantly surprised that I used two packets in my coffee and I did not have to reach for more. Truvia does not leave an awful aftertaste like some of the other sweeteners on the market (and I have used them all). I had my boyfriend, who will normally only drink sugar and avoid all sweeteners, taste my coffee with the Truvia in it and he said it tastes real.

Although I always resort back to sugar, I plan to use Truvia again. Especially since my "father-in-law" is diabetic, I'm sure we will be purchase Truvia on our own. I will also let my dad, who uses Splenda and Equal, know about Truvia and tell him he should make the switch.

Miss Spa Nail Polish

I purchased these at Walgreens on impulse in November. (My excuse was a needed change or wanted to get cash without going to the ATM.) I paid $4.99 and they came in a pail and with 5 lip butters (those are pretty decent). I was enticed by the holo glitter in the purple and the silver micro glitter. Once I got home, (as always) I searched for more information about these before swatching. Sadly, I could not find anything. After swatching (no pictures at this time), I discovered that these are possibly better for layering and most likely intended for use by children, although on the package it said not intended for use by children or something of that sort. I swatched (without base coat or a top coat), let them dry and went about my day. Later on I washed dishes and the polish washed right off! I put them in my box and let them sit. On my last mani, out of curiosity I swatched the silver micro glitter over my thumb and index finger (again no pictures at this time) then topped it with 3 coats of a clear polish and thankfully the glitter didn't budge that time. Soon I will do a full mani with base coat and top coat and see how long it lasts.

The polish are unnamed, but the descriptions are as follows:
clear base with silver micro glitters and tinted purple jelly base with micro holo glitters
magenta/hot pink jelly and lilac/pink
iridescent pearl

After my full mani, I'll post another review and if I still don't like them I will pass them on to Loro's 9 year old niece.

Review: 8ty8beauty

I've been meaning to do this post for a few weeks, my only excuse is I got preoccupied with so much other stuff that I put it off. Even though so much time has passed since I ordered from this company, I still think I should put this out there. Before ordering from this company, I was not able to find a review. So maybe if someone is wondering about ordering from 8ty8beauty, they'll have my review to go off of.

Back in October, I was anxiously searching for China Glaze Let it Snow collection online. (I was not patient enough to wait for it to pop up in stores around me. Plus, I didn't want to risk not getting anything like with the WNW On the Prowl collection.) One night I came across 8ty8beauty and was impressed that they had the whole collection available (as well as gift sets) for a decent price. Individually the single polish were $3.00 each.

I made my first and last order on October 21. The next day, I checked my bank account and realized 8ty8beauty charged my account twice causing me to overdraft. Apparently, they did a typo and input $41.11 instead of $41.00. Personally, I wouldn't have mind if they left it at $41.11. Although one of the charges was just a pending charge, it stayed on my account for almost a whole week. That was strike one - I know errors happen but they should be more careful when doing charges.

Strike two technically comes before strike one but I was aware of it before I ordered. The amount of shipping is not stated before checkout. I found out when I got my invoice the amount I paid for shipping was $11.00.

Strike 3 happened when I was waiting for my package to be delivered. I chose to have my order shipped by USPS. As always, I stayed on top of the tracking but something went wrong and my package couldn't be delivered to me. Why? I haven't the slightest clue - possibly it was mislabeled? Nonetheless, 8ty8beauty was helpful and resent my order by UPS.

All in all, it's probably just me being picky but I personally wouldn't order from 8ty8beauty anymore. I'm sure there are other online retailers that have nail polish for a lower price. If you know of any, please let me know.

notd/review : 2% milk

So looking at my nail polish collection I noticed that I mostly had bright colors. Which is completely fine because that's what I love. However, I felt it was necessary to add some toned down colors to my collection because I never know when I'll take another job (such as Disney *finger crossed*) where nail color should look "natural". I hauled at Walgreens for the .99 cent Wet n Wild promo (haul post coming soon) and picked up Wet n Wild megalast 2% milk.
3 coats, no top coat.

2% milk is a gorgeous milky beige, a sheer color and with 2 coats is a bit streaky. It has a wide/short brush and the formula isn't too runny. I can see myself purchasing it again if I run out because I can picture plenty "French manicures". Come to think of it, I may go get a back-up.
