Well it's officially the last week of the 52 week challenge since today and tomorrow is the last two days of the year. The theme is to show what 2013 is all about but I just interpreted that as a New Year mani. I had fun with this challenge and now feel a tad more comfortable trying nail art and plan on participating in nail art challenges more often.

52 Week Challenge - Week 52 - Christmas Mani
My reindeer's nose is a little too big for his face, but it's okay...lol. Next year, hopefully my reindeer will look a little better.
So besides being a manicure for the upcoming holiday, this manicure was ruffly inspired by my dog.

This is two coats of China Glaze Ring in the Red over WnW I Red a Good book. Ring in the Red is so pretty to look at.

52 Week Challenge - Week 49 - Glitter Sandwich
It's the first Sunday of December! Week 49's challenge is a glitter sandwich. I used 2 coats of Pure Ice Lilac Mist as my base color. Then layered on WnW The Star of the Show and WnW Party of 5 Glitters and topped it with 2 coats of OPI Step Right Up. I should've done a holiday themed glitter sandwich but there's time for that later.

52 Week Challenge - Week 48 - Feather Mani
Here's a feather mani without actual feathers. I didn't find too many when I searched Google for a how-to. What I did find was a page with screenshots of feathers on the Draw Something app. My color scheme is based off of peacocks but I didn't want to add the spots for fear I would destroy my "art".
I do want to try the feather mani with feathers but that will be at another time.

52 Week Challenge - week 46 - Mustache 4 Movember: Prostate Cancer Awareness Mani
The month of November raises awareness for Prostate Cancer. Even if this wasn't a theme of the 52 week challenge, I still would have posted a mustache mani because someone close to me had prostate cancer. I won't dive too much into details because that's diving into personal information of those around me but I'm glad to report that he is a survivor.
Since light blue is the awareness color for prostate cancer, I used 3 coats of Sinful Colors Morning Star and did my mustaches with WnW Black Creme. They didn't come out as I wanted but it gets the point across.

52 Week Challenge - Week 45 - Tribal Nails
This week's prompt for the 52 week challenge is Tribal Nails. Not one of my favorites but it wasn't that bad to do after watching this tutorial by TwoFreeHands on Youtube.
The colors I used were Color Club Nomadic Nude, Sinful Colors Citrine and Savage. The black and white is WnW Black Creme and French White Creme. I've noticed these are my most reached for black & white when I do nail art.

52 Week Challenge - Week 44 - Halloween Nails
One of my Twinsies, Nory did this awesome mani of Frankenstein and his friends and I just had to recreate it. My white is Sinful Colors Snow Me White, my black is WnW Black Creme and the green is WnW Nerd Alert: Screech.
It was my first time trying to do everyone but Frankenstein. I have another idea for the vampire but I might just save it for next year.

52 Week Challenge - Week 43 - Spiderweb Mani
Wow, I can't believe there is only 9 weeks left of this challenge and this year. Let's get to the challenge, spiderweb. Now I'm your typical girly girl who doesn't like spiders and absolutely hates walking into a spiderweb. *shudders at the thought* But a spiderweb on the nails, I think I can handle that. As long as it is made of polish ;)
I started out with Sinful Colors Inkwell and WnW Break the Ice. Inkwell looks black but is in fact a DEEP blackened purple. I think the name is quite appropriate because it does remind me of ink. Break the Ice is an off-white sheer polish packed with shimmer.
I then used some nail art polishes to make the spiderwebs using Cutepolish's tutorial. For my first try, I'm happy with the results. The white webs turned out the best I think.
Then for my NOTD I wore one coat of China Glaze Immortal with some Kiss nail art stickers of a spider and a web. I only wore one coat because I was in a hurry to get to bed last night since I had to be up at 6:30 a.m.

52 Week Challenge - week 42 - Pink 4 Breast Cancer Awareness
This week's 52 week challenge is to post a pink manicure for Breast Cancer Awareness. I wear pink A LOT, so I wanted to do something different. I attempted to do a saran wrap mani only problem I don't have saran wrap, I had bubble wrap. I thought any plastic would work, but obviously I was wrong. Regardless, I think this is a pretty combo of pink polishes. I used Sally Hansen Rose Wine and Essie Pink Diamond.
The little pink ribbon is from here.

52 week challenge - week 41 - Patchwork Nails
This week's theme called for a Patchwork Manicure. I used this tutorial by Kayla to do my nails. I went with Halloween colors and I liked how it came out. I think this is another nail art I will try once again.
I used Sally Hansen Vibrant Violet, Sun Kissed and Sunny Side and Black Nail Art polish.

52 week challenge - week 40 - animal print
Wow! Week 40 of the 52 week challenge! The year is just about over. This week's theme is animal print. I was hoping to have a plate with a giraffe print by now. Unfortunately, things always come up when I think about ordering. I used this tutorial to attempt giraffe print on my own. Now although my color scheme is wrong (How do I not own a good brown?) I'm pretty satisfied with the general outcome of this design.

52 Week Challenge - Week 39 - Dry Marble Nails
Marble nails are not my thing. Don't get me wrong, I love how they look on other people...just not on me. I think that's just because I don't like the outcome of any marble manicure I have tried. Although, I've only tried two, my water marble and today's dry marble. I would have to say that my dry marble was a tad bit more successful considering I kind of winged it. Do they actually look like marble nails or does it give off a splatter or blob vibe?

52 Week Challenge - Week 38 - Metallic or Magnetic nails
This week's theme came in at perfect timing considering so many companies are coming out with various metallic polishes. However, I chose to do magnetic polish since I've been holding on to it since March just for this post. This is a Nabi polish, it doesn't have a specific name but a number 47-300. It's a gorgeous teal but the magnet doesn't work that well for me. It's opaque in two coats.

52 Week Challenge - Week 37 - In Remberance of 9/11
All year I knew this manicure was approaching and all year I did not know what I wanted to do. It was a sad occasion and my thoughts goes out to all families affected. In remembrance to the men, women and children that lost their lives on that sad day, here is my manicure.

52 Week Challenge - Week 36 - Tape Mani
Week 36 is here, I just can't believe it is already September! This week's challenge has me doing a tape mani and I'm terrible at tape manis. I decided to take it a step further and also incorporate stamping since I'm not too good at that either. Here's what I came up with.
I used 3 coats Hard Candy Beetle over 1 coat of WnW French White Creme on everything but my accent nails. On my ring finger and thumb I used 3 coats of Beetle over NYC Charming Rose Creme (not a creme by the way). Then I used my Salon Express Stamper and a plate that came with it, taped off the part I did not want stamped and went crazy. For a double challenge, I like how this came out.
Here's what Beetle looked liked before I stamped it.

52 Week Challenge - Week 35 - Cupcake Mani
My second time doing a cupcake mani was definitely easier than my birthday manicure. This time I went for a different color palette. I used Sinful Unicorn, Easy Going for the stripes and the same franken for the frosting.

52 Week Challenge - Week 34 - Bling Nails
Due to the heavy amount of glitter used, this manicure did not stay on long. I used Sally Hansen Showgirl Chic and Essie Set in Stone. It's definitely a BLING BLING mani. I think I'll use this as an accent for next years NYE mani. If I were actually wearing this manicure out I probably would have started with China Glaze Tinsel so there would not be a VNL.
