Since I have both Revlon Perplex and Naughty, I decided to franken Naughty by adding some China Glaze Prism, Finger Paints Asylum and some other random colorful glitter. It turned out really nice with subtle glitter. I wonder how much of a pain it would be to take it off. My accent nails I added Island Girl Island Sunset (thanks Mallory). The last step of layering for these pics was the addition of Maybelline Violet Water. Although in the last picture it looks darker, it really didn't do much difference.
*Island Sunset was a gift/swap from Mallory. The other 2 polishes were purchased by me.

Twinsie Tuesday: Nude Polish
(this was last week's post, I don't know what happened that this reposted with the date of the 17th)
Hello lovely readers, I'm back with another edition of Twinsie Tuesday. This week's theme is nude polish. To be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to this week's theme for the simple fact that nude makeup products never seem to work for me. I could've just used one of my neutral work appropriate colors but since that isn't my "nude" color, I opted to franken a nude polish.
I combined an old brown polish with lighter nude colors, the end result was what is shown in the pictures.

Twinsie Tuesday: Franken
I was so excited to be asked by Amanda of Amandalandish to be apart of Twinsie Tuesday. I literally had a huge smile on my face as I replied back to her email. It is an honor to be apart of a group with these wonderful ladies and fellow nail polish lovers.
This week's theme is a franken. I've played around with a few frankens but I don't think I have mastered the true art of frankening. It was hard to choose a franken to feature for today's post. After much thought I decided to spice up light pink polish that I had previously added purple glitter to. I added SC Frenzy, SH Strobe Light and Rockstar Pink, Milani Gems and WnW Party of Five Glitters. This franken has small and large glitters and is not at all lumpy.
Although I wasn't trying to it turns out the end result was similar to Nory's Princess Abby but a tad lighter. I hope you don't mind Nory.

Franken: Black Knight Dupe
I became intrigued by this concoction after seeing Polish Amor, Nails Made Simple and a few other bloggers post about this franken and how easy it was to make. I went through the process twice though. The first time it was successful but then I messed it up. Shame on me. I made it again and I like the second version better. Here's all the pics of both versions of "black knight".

Frankens!
After seeing other nail bloggers create "new" polish known as frankens, I tried my hand at it (back in October). I've only used 2 for a Pink Wednesday and I was satisfied with how that turned out. Here's how those frankens looked when I first "created" them.
I dubbed this as "Sprinkles" it was a combo of EVERY glitter I owned at the time as well as Fantasy Makers Confetti. "Sprinkles" is definitely my favorite franken by far. I wish I would have started with a glitter base so my glitter doesn't sink to the bottom but it's still pretty to look at.
Neon Pink Glitter was China Glaze Shocking Pink that I added a bunch of glitter too. Just recently, I added some white to attempt to lighten the SHOCKING brightness, now it looks more like a Pepto pink so I now call it "Pepto Glitter".
"Dragon Scales" was my attempt to create a dupe of WnW Tangled Web. However, the glitter I used the color soaked off turning the clear polish into a charcoal jelly (and yes the glitter also sinks to the bottom of this one). I recently poured some off "Dragon Scales" to create a light grey franken which turned out rather nicely.
Another random shot of "Sprinkles" |
Baby Pink Glitter started off as a very PALE pink that was just awful to use. I added some of the China Glaze Shocking Pink (before adding all that glitter) and a LA Colors Purple glitter. After snapping the picture, I think I added in some of the Fantasy Makers Confetti.
I really like "creating" my own mixtures. For me, it's best to buy polish from Dollar Tree or .99 cent polish and combine those. Have you created any Frankens?

Pink Wednesday: Sprinkled Strawberry Yogurt
Pink Wednesday! Sprinkled Strawberry Yogurt (Layered Franken)
It feels like it's been forever since I last blogged. Today's Pink Wednesday consists of 2 frankens I created. One is a semi baby pink w/purple glitters then a "glitter bomb". I layered the two because I wanted to make good use of the "glitter bomb". It took many coats of the baby pink color to get the opacity I wanted without streak lines. Once I was satisfied with the opacity, I layered the "glitter bomb" then went back over with the baby pink then again with the "glitter bomb". Finally when I was completely satisfied I topped with a clear top coat.
