Jelly Sandwich: Spoiled Trust Fund Baby

I've been searching for Spoiled Trust Fund Baby for the longest. Finally I came across it in a CVS that I don't normally visit. I knew I wanted to do a jelly sandwich so my first combo was Sinful Colors Outrages with 1 coat of Trust Fund Baby topped with two coats of WnW Sugar Sugar. I wasn't thrilled with this combo but left it on anyways.
When I came home from work, I took off the polish. There was a little glitter left behind but since I wanted another jelly sandwich I didn't mind. So I added 2 coats of WnW Hush Hush plus a coat of Trust Fund Baby followed by another coat of Hush Hush. I liked this combo much better!

BOO to you!

I was inspired by this picture to do another Halloween mani. If I ever went to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, I'd definitely wear my nails like this.
I started off with WnW Buffy the Violet Slayer and topped that with Sally Hansen Purple Potion. Then on all fingers but my index, I added Sally Hansen Pumpkin Spice. While I waited for that to dry, I used Sally Hansen Sun Kissed to do my pumpkin Mickey head. For the letters, I used WnW Nerd Alert: Screech. For Mickey's eyes and the accent on the letters I used Sally Hansen Sunny Side.

I remembered to use my little light box, these pictures came out the best.

Then when I removed my polish, there was an outline of Mickey.

Nail Mail and NOTD "boy-girl order"

Yesterday I received some nail mail from Jenna! I'm only showing half of what I got because the others will be revealed in an upcoming post.  ;) Thank you so much Jenna! I really like all of them!
Last night I used two of them. That's why I love accent nails, when I don't know which color to choose I just use two polishes! :) No matter what Sasha from Bunheads thinks.

So I decided to use two of my favorite colors pink and (baby) blue. I dubbed this manicure "boy-girl order" because it reminds me of elementary school. When our class was too talkative our teacher would make us walk and sit in boy-girl order. I distinctively remember one year boys out numbering the girls, so the teacher made us sit boy-boy-girl at lunch. I don't think us girls were too fond of it at that age.

The unmarked blue is from Bootie Babe. After checking out the site, I think it's called "Coolio Azulio". I look forward to wearing this under Sinful Colors Cinderella.
The pink is WnW Candy-licious. What a gorgeous pink it is!
Then I pulled out my Revlon Whimsical. It pairs perfectly with my "boy-girl order" manicure.
I forgot to use a top coat last night so I awoke to horrible sheet marks. I topped it off with Dare to Wear Chi Chi to disguise the sheet marks. (Thanks again Cordia!)

Pink Wednesday - WnW Pom Pom Kelly

My Pink Wednesday is late. I'm trying to make good use of my neons before summer is officially over so I pulled out WnW Pom Pom Kelly even though I used it recently. For my accent nails, I layered on Nubar Black Polka Dot and OPI Piroutte My Whistle. This combo will have to do until I'm able to get Sticks n' Stones.

WnW Teal or No Teal

 Brand: Wet n Wild
Line: Fast Dry
Color Name: Teal or no Teal
Finish: metallic/shimmer
Number of Coats: 2
Top Coat: no
These pictures were taken a few weeks ago and I didn't post them right away. Teal or No Teal is a metallic looking "shimmer" teal-blue. The formula is thin and leaves a VNL which isn't a problem for me. I paired this with a glitter and that post will be coming soon.

ASBMF - Ladybugs

Hello everyone here is another post for the spring challenge created by Polished Prisms. Today I have ladybugs! I'm one of those girls that never liked any type of bug. But I gotta admit, ladybugs on nails look really cute.
For this manicure, I used Revlon Mon Cherry, Ulta Fashionably Late (thanks Dolly!), WnW Black Creme and a random white (I'm sorry I don't remember which white I used). On my accent fingers, I used one coat of Black Creme, then topped it with 2 coats of Fashionably Late.

Revlon: Orange Pop + Accent

In keeping with a bright look on a grey day, I also went for a bright nail color. I chose Revlon Orange Pop. I layered one coat of Orange Pop over yesterday's NOTD. I think if I didn't layer it, I would have needed 3 coats for opaqueness. Orange Pop is from the scented collection so it does have a slight aroma of orange but nothing over powering like some citrus cleaners. On my accent nail, I used 2 coats of the silver glitter from Claire's Precious Metals and 1 coat of WnW Kaleidoscope.

As I was looking for a glitter to do my accent nail, I was surprised I didn't have any glitters that had orange or yellows. I hope I find those Jordana glitters soon. But I guess it's alright because it's not like I would reach for an orange/yellow glitter often. On the other hand, I guess I could have did WnW 24 Carrat or any gold glitter for that matter but I wasn't using my thinking cap.

Swatch Comparison: WnW Sparked vs Revlon Sparkling

As a lover of pretty pink polishes, when I saw Essie A Cut Above, I really wanted it. But I knew there were other $8 polishes I anticipated getting and I was more than positive I saw something similar. Lo and behold, Wet n Wild Sparked and Revlon Sparkling. (I compared all three in store and at the time purchased only Sparked). I went home and researched and found while similar in color, Sparked is not as close to A Cut Above as I hoped. I later returned that same day to pick up Sparkling because like A Cut Above, Sparkling has large and small glitters. Although it should be noted that A Cut Above has more large hexagonal glitters than small glitters. As for now, I am satisfied with my sparkly pink purchases. Now let's compare Sparked vs Sparkling.
no flash
Both sparkly pink glitters are in a clear base. Sparked looks like a combination of pink and silver glitters. Sparkling is all pink with a combination of large and small glitters. Both polishes would require more than 3 coats to reach opacity.  Since I was just swatching to compare, I did not use a top coat so I am not sure if they eat up top coats like most glitters do. As I recall, they do not dry smooth but what (affordable) glitter does?

WnW Coloricon Baked Eyeshadow: Baking a Cake

Hey bonitas, I'm sure by now just about everyone has heard of Wet n Wild's 2011 Limited Edition baked eyeshadow holiday palettes. If not, you must not be reading Nouveau Cheap and all the other beauty blogs out there. I miraculously spotted the display at my Walgreens (a miracle because I had the WORST luck hunting down WnW LE On The Prowl nail polish collection and I had gave up all hope one ever finding LE items in my stores. Yes, I took it that serious.) I snatched up this palette and I HEART Matte.
I chose this palette because of the pinks and I am glad I did because it has some pretty neutrals in there as well.
I'm not accustomed to doing eyeshadow swatches, so please bare with me. In these pictures, they were swatched dry over ELF primer. The two marble colors came out so gorgeous! All colors have pretty good color payoff and I've seen swatches of them wet and they look excellent.

They are only available at Walgreens and normally priced at $4.99 but if you're lucky you can catch them in the BOGO50% and my store has a coupon book, with a $1 off any WnW product priced over $2.99. IF you're interested in this palette or the others, hurry to your Walgreens since it is limited edition.
