This was my Pink Wednesday

This past Wednesday (well Tuesday night actually) I painted my nails with Zoya Kiki, which I received as a birthday gift from Jenna. Kiki is a bright hot pink with a tint of blue fused with pink and purple shimmer.

For my accent nail I added Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter...

then topped it with Milani Gems and a thin layer of Spoiled Jewelry Heist.

I've had this combo on since Tuesday night, if I wasn't bored of it I probably would have kept it on longer.

Twinsie Tuesday - Color Block Mani

I'm not too fond of color block manicures. I don't know if it is because I can't draw a perfect line or I prefer color blocking my clothes. Either way, I can't say I'm to excited for my take on color blocking. I used Cherimoya (Pebble Beach) Fire Opal Step 3, Sinful Colors Fiji and China Glaze Up All Night.

Subtle Glitter Envy

I honestly didn't know what to label this post as. After all those bright colors last week, I wanted something soft and delicate. This manicure started off with 2 coats of Sinful Colors Social Ladder. The next day I added 2 coats of Sally Hansen Lavender Envy and did glitter tips with China Glaze Full Spectrum.

52 Week Challenge - Week 35 - Cupcake Mani

 My second time doing a cupcake mani was definitely easier than my birthday manicure. This time I went for a different color palette. I used Sinful Unicorn, Easy Going for the stripes and the same franken for the frosting.

Carl Fredrickson Nails

Anyone who knows me, knows I love Disney. I came across a tumblr blog of another Disney lover and she puts outfits together that are Disney inspired. Her tumblr is Disney Bound and I love the outfits she creates. While I can't recreate the outfits, I was inspired to do "Disney Bound" nails so to speak. My first Disney Bound nail is based on this post of Carl Fredrickson from Disney/Pixar's Up.

I used Sinful Colors Nirvana, Snow me White, Casablanca, WnW Black Creme and WnW Fashonista Lisa.

Sinful Metallics (New)

Despite the disappointments that are currently surrounding this brand, I still get excited to see new collections because this brand is in my budget (when I'm not supposed to be on "polish no-buy"). I also can't see myself boycotting this brand as it makes up a large part of my polish collection.

Yesterday I saw this display at Walgreens and since there was only one polish missing, I snapped a pic and thought I would post about it. I wanted to snag them all but because of my supposed August "no-buy" and lack of funds, I only snagged one of them. I hope this isn't the last time I see a full display.

Twinsie Tuesday - Floral Mani

Not that I'm complaining but Tuesdays seem to come rather quick. This week the twinsie's theme is a floral mani. I loved drawing flowers as a kid but they never looked "right" to me. Flowers on my nail is just the same. They just don't look right to me. I wanted to play around with other designs but time got away from me. For this mani I used Color Club You Got Soul-ar. Then I did flowers on my accent nails using WnW French White Creme covered up with WnW The Wonder Yellows.

I can't wait to see how my Twinsies do their floral manis.

Color Club Starry Temptress Mini Collection

Color Club Starry Temptress Collection has been on my Wish List for a few months now. Amanda started off my collection with the Starry Temptress Top Coat for my birthday. I have now added 3 more polishes to that collection. Yes, I know...I'm on "no-buy" for August but I couldn't pass this up. Here's my reasoning behind picking this up right away. Burlington Coat Factory is not close to me so I'm not able to go there often. This was the last box and the set of 4 minis only cost $2.99. Plus it's not just for me, I passed the mini glitter top coat to my boyfriend's niece.

The set comes with Glitter Envy, You Got Soul-ar and Wink Wink Twinkle (plus the glitter top coat). Now I just need to hunt down those pretty pinks and that gorgeous blue and I'll be all set.
The first color I chose to wear was Wink Wink Twinkle. It applies nicely for a mini and only needed 2 coats. On my thumb and ring finger I have the Starry Temptress Top Coat. What makes me happy about this purple is that my camera captured it pretty accurately. That rarely happens with purples!

July Collective Haul (birthday haul)

This post is going up rather late but since I put myself on a "polish no-buy" for August it evens out. July is my birthday month and this year my friends and family spoiled me with polish. Thanks to my twinsies, my boyfriend and his family, I had a GREAT birthday month filled with lots of polish happiness. That's why I decided for August to be "no-buy" month. I only lasted 18 days before failing but I have good reasoning behind it ;).

52 Week Challenge - Week 34 - Bling Nails

Due to the heavy amount of glitter used, this manicure did not stay on long. I used Sally Hansen Showgirl Chic and Essie Set in Stone. It's definitely a BLING BLING mani. I think I'll use this as an accent for next years NYE mani. If I were actually wearing this manicure out I probably would have started with China Glaze Tinsel so there would not be a VNL.

Saturday Spam - 1

Hello Polishettes! Since I ended up posting my Pink Wednesday late, I didn't officially post on Thursday and technically I was still rocking my Pink Wednesday. Then on Friday I wasn't sure if I wanted to post my NOTD because it's difficult to capture the true color and my application looked really sheer. So now it's Saturday and I decided to do my first Saturday Spam.

Up first is my (boyfriend's) niece's hand. She's visiting for the summer and she's loving playing in my polish. She mainly does skittles but I haven't been able to get a good picture of her NOTW until this one. This was done a week ago. She chose all the polishes on her own and painted herself. I did her clean up. I believe she only used one coat of each color. I guess that's a benefit of having small hands.

Up next is my NOTD for yesterday. I used Sinful Colors Fiji with an assortment of Claire's glitters on my accent fingers. Fiji is a sheer deep purple with slight shimmer. Although there seems to be shimmer in the bottle, the shimmer is not noticeable on the nail. The formula was not too bad but beware, it applies super streaky on first coat and evens out with the second coat. I would prefer to use this over another color rather applying coat after coat. One day when I have extra patience I will see how many coats of Fiji is needed to be opaque.

My last set of spam is an eye look I did yesterday. I would definitely say I was on a purple kick yesterday. I used ELF primer as my base. Then a light brown from my Coastal Scents 78 palette on my lid. Then a dark purple from the same palette mixed with a purple from my WnW I'm Feeling Retro trio.

Pink Wednesday - WnW Pom Pom Kelly

My Pink Wednesday is late. I'm trying to make good use of my neons before summer is officially over so I pulled out WnW Pom Pom Kelly even though I used it recently. For my accent nails, I layered on Nubar Black Polka Dot and OPI Piroutte My Whistle. This combo will have to do until I'm able to get Sticks n' Stones.

Penguin Makeup Challenge - 3

 This is now the first makeup challenge I have completed. Here's my look with white and color. I used the WnW trio I'm Feeling Retro. I did not follow the steps as listed on the back of the trio. For fun, I put white on my lashes. Not the look for me, that's for sure.
