PCOS Awareness

September is PCOS Awareness month. I wanted to help out my friend Nory and raise awareness about PCOS.

PCOS stands for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. The symptoms start gradually and are different for all women. PCOS symptoms are often misdiagnosed. PCOS symptoms include:

• few or no menstrual cycles
• heavy, irregular vaginal bleeding
• hair loss
• hair growth on face, chest, back, stomach because of change in androgen levels
• acne or oily skin
• depression
• weight gain
• repeat miscarriages or infertility
• body makes too much insulin or does not respond to insulin
• sleep apnea
• high blood pressure (WebMD, May 2010)

For this mani, I used WnW French White Creme, WnW Teal of Fortune and Teal or no Teal. For the ribbon, I used Zoya Zuza. Since I had a hard time narrowing down what type of teal & white mani I wanted to do. I may do another one later this month.
