Sunday Spam - Sinful Colors Mimosa and OMD2

Hey everyone, happy Sunday. Today's nails features a combo of textures. When I first saw Mimosa in the Destination Color display, I just knew I had to do a red accent. Mimosa is a sheer squishy jelly that reminds me of orange juice with metallic red glitters and tiny red bar glitters. Since Mimosa is sheer, I layered it over Cloud 9. My accent is OPI magazine cover mouse.
Also, I'll be participating in OMD2 challenge this year. It was really fun last year challenging myself and I think it'll be great to try it again this year.

Save Pacific Blue

There's been quite an uproar within the nail community about Sally Hansen changing the formula and color of Pacific Blue. The only thing I don't like about the change is that they are keeping the same name; they could have at least named it Pacific Blue too.

I participated in the #savepacificblue collab on Instagram organized by @capitalpolish and @reinovate. There were over 130 participants, Here's the photos of all the pacific blue manicures as well as my swatch.

Wet n Wild All Access Beauty polish

Hello everyone, I've been meaning to type up this post since wayyyy last month. I was so excited to get my hands on this LE collection I nearly squealed in Walgreens. I'm sure these swatches have been everywhere, but let's take another look at them. I've got a few favorites of the bunch.

Up first is Coast to Coast, two coats without top coat. This is a pretty blue somewhat reminds me of  Sally Hansen Pacific Blue except it has shimmer. It goes on nice and doesn't take long to dry.

Next, is Trippin on the Boardwalk, two coats without top coat. This is one of my favorites of the bunch. A soft purple that could be categorized as radiant orchid for the Pantone color of the year. It went on sheer and there's still a visible nail line but that doesn't bother me too much.
Beat of a Generation, two coats no topcoat, is the pink of the bunch and definitely my other favorite. It's a jelly-creme and dries super shiny.
A summer collection can't be complete without a coral. This is Love me some Muscles, two coats no top coat. It also went on a little sheer but there isn't a VNL left.
A Venice Day, two coats no top coat, is another jelly-creme that leaves a VNL. On the bright side, it doesn't take too long to dry and has a nice shiny finish.
Contact High, two coats no topcoat, is now in my list of favorite greens. It's bright like a neon, applies sheer but not streaky and dries to a semi-matte jelly finish.
I've used these polishes quite a bunch since I've purchased them and I'm sure I'll be using them even more throughout the summer. Were you able to find this collection? What are your favorites?

Twinsie Tuesday: inspired by food/beverage

Hey everyone, Happy Tuesday! This week our Twinsie Theme is a manicure inspired by food or beverage. I decided to choose donuts because I've been craving donuts lately. That might be because Boyfriend and I are watching Dexter and everytime they have donuts, I want donuts. Bonus tidbit - my first job was at Dunkin Donuts. So these are my donut nails, a lot of random polishes went in to the making of this manicure.

Sunday Spam

Hey everyone,  it's officially summer. Surprisingly the weather isn't feeling very summery here. Although when it's hot I'm sure I'll be complaining about how hot it is.

Today I have same random manicures to share.

Twinsie Tuesday - Summer Lovin

Hey everyone, it's almost officially summer and this weeks Twinsie Tuesday theme is Summer Lovin. Of course, I instantly get the song from Grease stuck in my head.

Summer loving had me a blast ohh yeah
Summer loving happened so fast
I met a girl crazy for me
Met a boy cute as can be

So with that song in mind and some browsing for inspiration, I came across this manicure from Kelsie's Nail Files and decided to take a stab at it. I used Sally Hansen Pacific Blue (Have you heard they changed Pacific Blue completely?!) China Glaze Sand dolla make you holla, Sally Hansen CSM Terracotta and an ELF polish I can't remember right now. I wanted a gradient effect and it didn't turn out perfect but I kinda like it. I even wore it to work today and haven't took it off so I'll be wearing it on Tuesday.

For other summer lovin manicures, be sure to check out the rest of the Twinsies. By the way, I wanted to officially welcome back Cordia because I forgot to do so last week. Also, I want to welcome Bridget and Jessica to Twinsie Tuesday. Glad to have you all apart of the group.

Sally Hansen Color Foil liquid gold

Happy Sunday everyone. Today I have a swatch of one of the new (to me) Sally Hansen Color Foils.  I picked this up from Walgreens doing a candy run before watching Maleficent. I hadn't read up on them before purchasing but I bought one hoping it would be good for stamping. At this point, I haven't stamped with it but I've read it's somewhat difficult to stamp with.

The color I have is Liquid Gold. The directions say to use without base coat,  so that's what I did. I buffed my nails a bit before applying the polish. There are still some imperfections but looks pretty good for being a chrome polish. This was two coats of Liquid Gold.

Twinsie Tuesday - 3D decor

Hello everyone, Happy Tuesday! Today's theme is 3D decor.  I'm not one for adding 3D decorations to my nails so I had to find something to stick to my nails. I remember the last time there was a Twinsie theme asking to do 3D nails and Amanda stuck a Cheerio to her nail. I was thinking about recreating that but all we had in the house was Cornflakes. Then I remembered I had a bracelet break recently; I just took the beads from that and stuck them on my nails. The polish I'm wearing is China Glaze Fly with a homemade "fairy dust".

To see more 3D decor, be sure to check out the rest of the Twinsies...

Influenster Spring Fling Vox Box 2014

Hello everyone, I received the Spring Fling VoxBox from Influenster about two weeks ago. I haven't had the chance to test out all products due to timing but I figured it's best to get this up now. So let's see what I got.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara retails at $5.99. The 60s are back in full swing with a thicker, fuller, wide-eyed look, fanned out volume, and no clumps for lashes that are up, out and over the top! I absolutely adore this mascara and it came just in time too, because I was in need of a new mascara. I like the brush and it makes my eyes pop. I don't experience any irritation or flaking. I would definitely consider purchasing this mascara again.

Kiss Everlasting French nails retails at $6.49. The ultimate French manicure that never chips - guaranteed. Rich, white smile line looks like you just left the salon; file to any shape with no tip wear. Available in Flat and Regular arches with Flex-Fit technology to ensure ultra-comfort and a perfect fit! Available at Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, Kmart, Rite-Aid and Target. I haven't tested out this product yet because I've been wanting to play with some new polishes I picked up from Walgreens. As soon as I try them out, I'll make a new post about how they work for me.

Peach Pie Car Freshener from the Labor Day Movie Kate Winslet & Josh Brolin star in Labor Day from Academy Award-nominated director Jason Reitman. Enjoy this sweet treat from Paramount Pictures in honor of the home entertainment release of Labor Day available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD for $19.99. (Average Retail value is $39.99) I put this car freshener in my car, I thought it would remind me of homemade peach pie but it didn't. I thought I couldn't smell it because my nose was stuffy so I asked my boyfriend how it smells and he couldn't smell it either. It does look cute though.

Plaxtex Sport Fresh Balance retails for $3.99-4.99. Introducing new Playtex Sport Fresh Balance with Odor shield technology. It's designed to neutralize odors for ultimate freshness on and off the field. Combined with a 360 design for Sport level Protection, you can go the distance. Play on. I haven't had the chance to test this product out yet because it's not that time of the month yet.

nivea Skin Firming Hydration Lotion retails $2.49 for 2.5oz and $10.99 for 13.5oz. Get your skin ready for warm weather with NIVEA skin firming hydration lotion. In as little as 2 weeks, you'll see firmer more toned skin. All I can say for sure about this lotion is that it's good for dry skin. I don't necessarily have saggy skin so I'm not sure how accurate I'd be in reporting what it does for toning skin.

I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster.

#isupportEDA

On Instagram, I learned through Jamie, @polishpleasejlw that @jessuhhhkuh was asking the nail community to show support for Eating Disorder Awareness by posting a perwinkle or light purple mani today.

I am wearing Zoya Caitlin topped with Sinful Colors Purple Diamond.

Adios May, Hola June

In hopes of posting more often, I've been debating what to post about.  I decided to do Hello, Goodbye as seen from Cordia at Seriously Swatched. She used to do a monthly summary of colors, nail art styles and finishes. I've been wanting to do the same just never got the chance. Now is the time to start. I tend to post more often on Instagram so some that wasn't posted here was posted there. I hope by starting this monthly summary, I'll challenge myself to post more and have an assortment of colors and nail art styles.

I didn't plan ahead of time for my summary so I may have missed a few but here goes...

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Indie brand

Hey everyone,  sorry my post is a tad late. I stayed up watching a few episodes of Dexter last night with Boyfriend. Now I'm blogging from my "mother-in-laws" phone before I go to work. (Her camera is better so I've been using it for my nail photos. ) Anyways too much rambling, on to this week's Twinsie post. We're sharing our favorite indie brand.
I don't own many indies, just the 10 you see below. I would say my favorite of the bunch is my newest ones from Ellagee but I shared those last week. I love those glitter Mickey heads. So today I'll share an indie that I haven't used in a while.  It's from former Twinsie, Sarah's Two Birds, One Store. Its called just keep swimming. This was my first indie purchase so it'll always hold a special place in my collection. I just  really wish I would've got a full size of it. I paired it with Wet n Wild Contact High.
