Special Twinsie Tuesday - 2 year anniversary

Hello everyone! I'm sure it's shocking to see a Twinsie post on a Friday but today marks the 2 year anniversary of Twinsie Tuesday. We're celebrating by recreating another Twinsie's first post. I had the pleasure of recreating Alaina's (The Little Canvas) first post, which was favorite color combo.

Here's a look at Alaina's original manicure.
Credit: The Little Canvas

And here's how I recreated it.

But let me tell you...my first go at this design, it did not turn out right. I didn't think I would be able to do it justice. My white dots looked like spiderwebs...not a good look for this particular design. I wiped it all away and tried it again the next day. Luckily that time, it turned out pretty nice.

I used: Sinful Colors Candy Coated and two random black and white polishes I had quick access to grab.

Happy Anniversary to all my fellow (past and current) Twinsies. Although this is an online group, I'm proud to be apart of this group. I enjoy chatting with you all and getting to know you. You all are an amazing support system and I hope a year from now, I'll be writing another post just like this one. I can't end this post without a special thank you to Amanda for starting this group. <3>

#busygirlnails week - 3 : glitter

Hey everyone! This week's busy girl theme is glitter. I did two different manis. The first was inspired by one of my Twinsies' post from last week. I believe it was Elizabeth. It was roughly inspired by Roisin. It screams Christmas but I didn't want to wait until next Christmas to do red and gold. I used Color Club Berry and Bright, Sally Hansen Glitter Gun, China Glaze I'm not lyin and Shimmer Tracy.
The second was just me picking polishes and being themed for Valentines. I used Wet n' wild candylicious, unknown Pure Ice , LA Colors Pink Crush and stamped with Berry and Bright.

Twinsie Tuesday: nail care routine

Hey everyone, this week the Twinsies are bringing something different. We're showing our nail care routines. To be honest, I don't necessarily have a "routine" that I follow on a regular basis but here's what I've been using.

I remove my nail polish with polish remover. I use acetone for clean up or on tough stains. When necessary, I uses my cuticle remover (and a little olive oil) on my cuticles and allow that to soak in and remove problem areas with gently with a nail file or my other nails. I never clip my cuticles. I then use a cuticle oil so my fingers don't look so dry. Lotion is my holy grail, doesn't matter what kind but I ALWAYS have to have lotion. So there you have it, that's the gist of my "routine" and I don't do that on a regular. I need to work on that though. Here's my nails after actually doing my routine.
I can't wait to see how the other Twinsies take care of their nails.

Twinsie Tuesday - Seasonal Gradient

*Some products in this post was received from Influenster complimentary for review.

Happy Tuesday starrettes! Today's Twinsie Tuesday prompt is a seasonal gradient. At first I was feeling uninspired for today's post. I ended up searching Google for colors "appropriate" for Winter. Once I was finished I was pleased with the outcome because it kind of resembles Elsa's dress from Frozen. (Frozen is my favorite Disney movie at the moment.)

I started off with a thin coat of Sally Hansen CSM Jaded*. Jaded is a light blue-green creme that applies sheer at first. I figured Jaded would be perfect to start my gradient. Then using a makeup sponge, painted on Jaded, Sinful Colors Sugar Rush and Sinful Colors Morning Star. Here's how my gradient turned out.

I look forward to seeing how the other Twinsies carried out this week's prompt.

#csmtko nail art "clouds"

*Some of the polishes used in this post were received complimentary from Influenster for testing.

Hey starrettes! I'm back with another #csmtko post. This time I'm showing some nail art.

I started off with Sally Hansen CSM Jaded and then using the polish brush in Pat on the Black, painted on some clouds. I finished my clouds up with a CSM I already had in my stash, the original Hidden Treasure.

I wanted to test out how long the polish lasts but I polished my nails before going to bed last night; now I have sheet marks and a dent in the polish. I don't know how long I'll keep it on before it bugs me.

#busygirlnails - Winter nail art challenge - Week 2: White

Hello starrettes! This week the prompt or theme is white. I couldn't figure out what kind of "art" to do just using whites because I wasn't sure how different whites would stand out from one another. So today I'll be sharing a white that I waited forever to get. Funny thing is; now that I own it, I don't want to use it because I want to save it forever. I'm talking about OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. When this came out, I didn't think I need it because "it's just a white". However, after hearing everyone rave over it for a whole year, I ordered it as a treat to myself mid 2013. Now I will never think it's just another white again, I've learned my lesson.

I paired MBSW with Dare to Wear Chi-Chi.

Influenster: Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure #csmtko

*I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

I'm so excited about today's post because I got new polish in the mail from Influenster! I haven't been able to shop for polish for awhile so I'm ecstatic to test out these polishes from Sally Hansen.

"In an independent side by side study of 375 women who wore Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure and Revlon Classic or Essie nail polish, more women chose Sally Hansen after completing their manicure for: the color coverage, speed of application, streak free application, the brush and saving time. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure has 7 benefits all in one bottle: base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, coolor, top coat, chip resistant and a gel shine finish. CSM is the total package."

Let's take a look at the Complete Salon Manicure polishes I got. All polishes were used without base or top coat.

First up is Jaded. Jaded is a creme that applied a little sheer at first but evened out nicely. This light blue-green will be perfect for Spring. I used 3 coats.

Up next is Red my Lips. This may be a little too early to say but this could be my new favorite red polish! I'm sure I'll be using this plenty with Valentine's inspired posts in the next month. I used 2 coats.

Pat on the black is the last polish for today. This is a dark eggplant purple that appears black in some lights. I used 2 coats. I have other dark vampy colors in my collection but I don't think I own anything like this. I'll be back with a follow-up post to tell how CSM holds up to the claims. As for now I can say that using any of these polishes does save time because I didn't need to use a base coat or top coat. Thank you Influenster for allowing me to test out these polishes.

Twinsie Tuesday - Inspired by a family member

Hello everyone, it's the second Tuesday of 2014. How's your year going so far?

This week we're posting manicures inspired by a family member. I was inspired by my little sister. I knew I wanted to do delicate colors because she's so tiny and has been all her life. It just so happens that lavender is her favorite color, as well as green. Since I can't locate my stamp and plates, I couldn't do a delicate pattern so I did her favorite shape which is hearts. Then using a green, I wrote out "sis".

#busygirlnails - Winter nail art challenge - Week 1: Teal

Hey starrettes! Busy Girl nails is back with a winter challenge! This is the first week and the theme is teal.

Last night my "SIL" was over and I was admiring her nails because she had on a ruffian. It's been ages since I've tried a ruffian, so that's what I went for using teals.
I used WnW Teal of Fortune and Zoya Zuza on my thumb and ring finger. Then on my other fingers I used Zuza and China Glaze Atlantis.

Here's a look at what's to come for the #busygirlnails winter challenge over on Instagram. If you participate be sure to tag the hosts: @beautybyarielle, @fiercemakeupandnails, @mirandasmakeup@marijonails, and @drinkcitra, using the hashtag #busygirlnails.

Jelly sandwich: Green Rocket

I asked on instagram if anyone could guess what I layered for this nail look. But no one answered... Anyways,  I started with one coat of Sally Hansen Teeny Greeny Bikini. I then topped it with Sally Hansen Green Rocket and finished the "sandwich" with OPI So many clowns..so little time.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Layering: Nanacoco Fly to the Galaxy

Happy Friday everyone! Even though this week was cut short due to freezing temperatures and car trouble, I am so ready for the weekend. I decided to kick my Friday off with a blog post. I need to get back into the routine of blogging, so please bear with me.

Today I have some pretties that I haven't got to mess with since May 2013. I started with Sinful Colors Mesmerize, a dark blurple. I couldn't decide between Sinful Colors Facted or Nanacoco Fly to the Galaxy, so I used both. I started with Fly to the Galaxy and then on my ring and thumb I added a coated of Facted. Faceted got lost in the scattered holo goodness of Fly to the Galaxy. I kept this manicure on for two days.

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Color Combo

Hello everyone! First I want to say welcome to our 5 new Twinsies. I'm so happy to have you all apart of our Twinsie family. Today's post is our favorite color combo. I love pink and black together or purple and black together so I chose a polish that was in between purple and pink. This is Outrages by Sinful Colors. I used a black striper to add lines.

Happy New Year

So I'm already off to somewhat of a late start but here's my New Years mani. I used China Glaze Blue Years Eve, China Glaze Techno and a white nail art for the numbers.

I know that I fell off the radar the second half of 2013 with the exception of Twinsie Tuesday posts. 2013 just wasn't my year. I wasn't able to shop for polish like I wanted and I just couldn't find the energy to blog as much. I was still polishing my nails but didn't have much to say.

I hope to get back in the swing of things this year. I appreciate everyone that has stuck by even though I didn't have many posts up.

What would you like to see on my blog this year?
