Twinsie Tuesday - Inspired by ethnicity/nationality

Happy last Tuesday of April! This week's Twinsie theme is a mani inspired by ethnicity/nationality. I'm a mix of African-American, Native American and Caucasian from America. I honestly didn't know what to do until Amanda suggest I try a tribal print. Still unsure of what color scheme to go with I decided to go for the good ol' red, white and blue.

Disney Nail Art Challenge - Tangled

Today's DNAC theme is from one of my newest favorite Disney movies, Tangled. I say newest because it's too hard to just choose one favorite. I did pink and purple stripes inspired by Rapunzel (Gesundheit) dress and my accent nail represents the floating lanterns.

Different Shades of Blue Autism Awareness - Blue Plastic Wrap

Today is the last day of the Different Shades of Blue challenge and the theme is Blue Plastic Wrap.
I wanted a little extra color so I did my blue plastic wrap (Sally Hansen Himalayan Blue) over China Glaze It's a Trap-eze.

Well, that's a wrap for this challenge. If you haven't already be sure to check out all the other bloggers that participated in this challenge and helped spread autism awareness.

Disney Nail Art Challenge - Lion King

Hakuna Matata! How are you all doing today? Today's theme is Lion King. I was telling DBF that I had no clue what to do for this and if I tried to follow Cutepolish's design, it wouldn't look "right". Then he suggested I draw Simba how Rafiki drew Simba and that seemed easy enough. I decided to pair the two together since I liked how Cutepolish's design looked.

Different Shades of Blue Autism Awareness - Handprints

THis is the second to last theme for the different shades of blue challenge and this was one I was looking forward to because I wanted to make the little handprints.
I used all Sinful Colors for this mani. My white is Snow me White and the handprints were done with Grecian Sun, my accent is Hottie.

Be sure to check out the other bloggers' handprints.

Twinsie Tuesday - Polish Chosen by Someone Else

Happy Tuesday lovely readers! This week the Twinsie's had someone else choose a polish, my boyfriend chose China Glaze Ring in the Red. I'm sure I used this for a previous TT post but I didn't want to steer him away from participating ever again. For my accent nail, I picked three different glitters and asked my MIL and SIL which one I should use and they both chose Nubar Black Polka Dot.

Be sure to check out the other Twinsies to see what polish was chosen for them.

Different Shades of Blue Autism Awareness - Fishtail

Today's challenge was to do a fishtail manicure, and it was not very successful for me. It just looks wrong. I used Revlon Cloud, a random LA colors blue and Sinful Colors Super Star.

After 2 hours on my nails, the polish was not fully dry and I was able to do this.

Disney Nail Art Challenge - Bambi

For today's DNAC theme, Bambi, I drew inspiration from Ihaveacupcake on YouTube. This was the easiest to do without butchering Bambi's face.

Different Shades of Blue Autism Awareness - Awareness Ribbons

Hey everyone, I'm sorry my Different shades post was not up yesterday. Here are my ribbons.
I had a successful gradient today (but a very difficult time cleaning it up, grr). I decided to top my gradient with some blue awareness ribbons. Since the autism awareness ribbon is a puzzle which reflects the mystery of autism, I decided to try to portray that on one nail with dots. I honestly don't think I'd be able to do puzzles that small.

Be sure to check out the other awareness ribbons from the other bloggers.

Disney Nail Art Challenge - Beauty and the Beast

"Be our guest..." Hello everyone! Today's theme is Beauty and the Beast, no faces for me today. I went the easy route and did Chip. "Mama there's a girl in the castle." (I had that scene in my head the whole time I was doing my nails.)

Chip: Are they gonna live happily ever after, Mama?
Mrs. Potts: Of course, my dear. Of course.
Chip: Do I still have to sleep in the cupboard?

Be sure to check out the other Beauty and the Beast nails from these lovely bloggers.

Cherimoya - Pebble Beach - PB15

Textured polishes are everywhere these days and while I don't have any that's popping up, I did have Pebble Beach Crystal Sand in my untrieds. I tried one of them once before. Tonight, I have PB15 Fire Opal Step 2. This is just one coat! It's not too gritty either.

Are you a fan of textured nails?

ILNP SpectraFlair Holographic Top Coat (press release)

My Private Rainbow is ILNP's SpectraFlair top coat. Many of you know how hard SpectraFlair is to get and how beautiful it looks under the right lighting. Absolutely nothing compares!

My Private Rainbow comes in 3 different versions:

Linear - The linear version of My Private Rainbow uses a very fine SpectraFlair pigment. This fine particle size allows for a very smooth ("linear") holographic appearance on the nails.

Scattered - The scattered version of My Private Rainbow uses a larger sized SpectraFlair pigment. The larger particle size catches more light to deliver more of a popping and scattered holographic appearance.

Linear+Scattered - This version of My Private Rainbow uses a combination of both SpectraFlair pigments described above. The small and large particle sizes are an excellent combination for those that want it all!

Be sure to scoop up a My Private Rainbow SpectraFlair top coat while they're still in stock!

Click here to visit the ILNP shop at www.ilnp.com

Keep an eye out for the much anticipated release of our holographic polishes. There will be 10 total -- available 4/20/2013!

Different Shades of Blue Autism Awareness - Blue Ruffians

Hello everyone! I'm sorry this post is going up so late. I don't know where my mind was but I swore I wrote this up and scheduled it last night...but turns out I didn't. Today's challenge was to do a blue ruffian. Ruffians are not my favorite but I like how this one turned out.

Be sure to check out the other blue ruffians.

Twinsie Tuesday - Fictional Animal

Hello everyone, welcome to a mythical edition of Twinsie Tuesday. Our theme today is a fictional animal, there isn't a shortage of fictional animals to choose from but I definitely wanted to do something easy. At first, I was just going to polish my nails white, add flakies and call it a unicorn but I'll save that for another day. I decided to go with the cutest dragon I've heard of, Toothless,  a night fury from How to Train Your Dragon.
Here is his face, what should be his scales and tail. Last but not least, fire because what would a dragon be without fire?

Here is a dim photo of Toothless himself.

I'm looking forward to what the Twinsies come up with for their fictional animals.

Different Shades of Blue Autism Awareness - Puzzle Pieces

Happy Monday all! Today's theme for different shades challenge is puzzle pieces. I kinda wish I had a plate with a puzzle stamp on it but I tried my best to do a basic puzzle.

Disney Nail Art Challenge - The Little Mermaid

Today's Disney theme is one of my favorite childhood movies and the first I actually remember watching over and over and over, it's The Little Mermaid. I had so much trouble trying to draw Sebastian, I did him twice. So when Flounder's outline came out decent, I did not want to mess it up adding eyes and a mouth. The other two nails are inspired by Ariel's tail and a dinglehopper ;)

Here's my first attempt at Sebastian.
