Painting in the New Year Challenge: The Countdown

Hello everyone! I'm participating in another challenge. This challenge was created by Katie from Nails by Katie. The first prompt is The Countdown and I couldn't think of anything more original except an actual countdown on my nails.
My thumb is my attempt to represent the Time Square Ball. I didn't realize my cleanup was this wonky until I went to add my watermark. I guess that's what I get for polishing my nails in dull lighting. For this manicure, I used China Glaze Icicle as my base color and then topped that with two coats of Milani HD. I used a black Sharpie to write the numbers. On my thumb, I did the same as the rest of my nails but then added China Glaze Techno and stamped with WnW Black Creme.

52 Week Challenge - "week" 53

Well it's officially the last week of the 52 week challenge since today and tomorrow is the last two days of the year. The theme is to show what 2013 is all about but I just interpreted that as a New Year mani. I had fun with this challenge and now feel a tad more comfortable trying nail art and plan on participating in nail art challenges more often.

Twinsie Tuesday - Christmas Inspired mani

Hello and welcome to a Christmas inspired edition of Twinsie Tuesday. Also this week, we are officially welcoming our newest Twinsie, Jamie! (Happy Belated birthday Jamie ;)) Here's my Christmas inspired mani...

I really like how my dot tree turned out and of course, I had to do one of my FAVORITE jelly sandwiches on my ring finger.

To all those that celebrate the holiday, Merry Christmas and to those that don't...Happy Tuesday or Happy Holidays! Be sure to check out the other Twinsies to see their Christmas inspired manis!

52 Week Challenge - Week 52 - Christmas Mani

My reindeer's nose is a little too big for his face, but it's okay...lol. Next year, hopefully my reindeer will look a little better.
So besides being a manicure for the upcoming holiday, this manicure was ruffly inspired by my dog.

12 Days of Christmas Challenge - Day 11 - Gifts

Sorry this post is late. Lately it seems like I haven't had a moment to myself to just sit and paint my nails.
Here's my attempt at presents. This was the easy part...

but then trying to add bows was a little difficult. Overall it gives a nice look but my bow skills need work.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Day 10 - Fav Ornament

So the 10th day of the challenge calls for us to do our favorite ornament, unfortunately I don't have a favorite ornament. I imagine I did at one point but at this current time I don't have any. I decided to stamp over the polish using China Glaze Icicle. Red and silver with accents of gold is a pretty combo of colors for an ornament.

Twinsie Tuesday - Birthstone Color

I'm so excited about this week's theme because not only do we get to post our birthstone color, I get to use a brand new polish that I received from my secret Santa swap partner, Amanda. :) I wasn't sure if it was too early to post what we got but this polish fits the theme perfectly...here's China Glaze Ruby Pumps. Ruby Pumps is a gorgeous red jelly packed with red glitter. It applies nicely and I only needed two coats for the polish to be opaque.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Day 9 - Wreath Mani

Before I share my "wreaths", check out my base color. I used Revlon Mistletoe, I picked it up at CVS on clearance for $1.45. I didn't know about this polish last year but if I had, I would have wanted it.

Okay, on to today's challenge. Here are my "wreaths". I used China Glaze Winter Holly mixed with Essie Mint Mojito to make my circles. Then China Glaze Red Satin and Merry Berry for the decorations on the wreaths.

This is two coats of China Glaze Ring in the Red over WnW I Red a Good book. Ring in the Red is so pretty to look at.

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Day 7 - Ugly Christmas Sweater

Woo! Today is 12/12/12 I wish I wasn't home sick but I doubt anything crazy exciting is going on around me.

Anyways, on to the nails. I honestly didn't know what to do for Ugly Christmas Sweater and I'm not feeling too great but this is what I came up with for my manicure.
I'm sure the other ladies have some pretty awesome Ugly Christmas Sweater manis, be sure to check them out!

Twinsie Tuesday - Chanukah-inspired mani

This week's Twinsie Tuesday theme is Chanukah-inspired mani. I dug deep into my creative thinking cap and decided to attempt a menorah and dreidel. If only I could line my fingers up "just right".

12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge - Day 6 - Winter Wonderland

I was a bit lost when trying to come up with a design for today's theme of Winter Wonderland. I decided to use Sinful Colors Winter Wonder as my base color and then just did snow fall. Definitely not the most original design but still sort of cute.
