Guest Blogger - Aladynevertells

Hey friends! So far I'm enjoying my time in Florida but I miss my boyfriend. Thank goodness for Skype. I asked one of my Twitter/Youtube friends to do a guest post for me. She doesn't blog often but she does have a YouTube channel. She has a beauty/variety channel. She uploads beauty videos as well as cooking and vlogs. Be sure to check her out.

Hi!
My name is Lia (ALadyNeverTells on youtube) and my wonderful friend Chi Chi asked me to do a NOTW post for her fabulous blog! So here I am, writing my first NOTW. It's pretty Exciting!

I tried my first attempt at water marbeling and let me just say: It is A LOT harder than it looks. By the 3rd nail I started to get the hang of it but I am definitely NOT a pro and need some work. However, it doesnt look perfect. It looks abstract. Which is totally me! I love it regardless if it may look like poo to you! The camera doesnt quite do it justice but hopefully you can still see my artwork in its glory!

Anyways, I decided to do spring/summer colors that pop because I love those bright colors!

Colors used:
Snow white- sinful colors (as a base color)
Essie- Tart deco
Orly-sunshine
OPI- I eat mainly lobster
OPI- pink friday
the accent nail is a dupe for essies a cut above that was i believe 2 dollars! I cant remember the name but I believe it is wetnwild!

I really hope you all enjoy my notw! I had fun trying this new technique!

Thanks so much Chi Chi for letting me have an opportunity to do this! <33

Thanks Lia! This is a nail design I have not attempted yet. Yours looks great, I hope when I try it, mine doesn't turn into a big blob.

Guest Blogger - Art Evolve

My first guest blogger is Ashesela from Art Evolve! I always love her nail art because it's so intricate and amazing. Some of the freehand work I just stare at for a long time admiring the detail. I'm so thrilled to have her as a guest blogger. When you have a moment be sure to check her out but for now, let's see what she has in store for us today.

Hi everyone, I'm Ashesela from over at Art Evolve! :D

When ChiChi mentioned that she would be going away for a while and asked us Twinsie Tuesday girls if we could do guest posts for her, I definitely said yes!! :D  ChiChi is such a wonderful, kind friend, and it is my pleasure to make a post for her! :D

For this manicure I started with a base of Sinful Colors Grecian Sun (so beautiful!!!).  I then used a bunch of different blues and greens (some frankens) and just blobbed and sponged them on.  To get the odd looking dark marks, I painted a few on with dark blue, and the others I just blobbed on and sponged off.

Super easy and really fun to do!! :D

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and thank you for taking the time to view my post! :D

Pink Wednesday - neon and sponging

Hello all! Wednesday the 30th is finally here and that means I'm on my way to Florida!!! Woo!! I'm so excited to get to see my family again for a few days. The next few days I will have guest bloggers and they are pretty amazing. On Sunday, I won't have my 52 week challenge up but it will go up sometime next week. Now let's get on for Pink Wednesday.

I planned this "mani" (I used quotations because I "cheated" and only did two fingers.) ahead of time but it's not what I'm actually wearing on my nails for the actual Pink Wednesday. This is Sinful Colors Pink. It's a super bright neon pink. I toned it down by sponging on Kleancolor Barbie Pink and WnW French White Creme. I like the look of this and I might try it again for an actual NOTD.

The past few days and the next few days have been sorta hectic. I might not be able to reply to comments while I am out of town but I will catch up on comments as soon as I can.

Twinsie Tuesday - Holographic Polish

I am having had the worst trouble posting my pictures, this is what I get for waiting to the last minute. *sigh* The least I can do is type up my post, so tomorrow all I have to do is add pictures.

I can't believe it's the last Tuesday of the month! This week the Twinsies are featuring a holographic polish and I chose Nubar Brilliant based on this amazon post when I was searching for a new holo to purchase. The holo in that picture just screamed "buy me!" and I immediately added it to my cart. When I got it, I was a little disappointed because it didn't shine in the bottle like it did in the picture. On my nails, I'm happy I got it but still searching for a holo polish that really impresses me (and is in my budget). Brilliant is a pink polish with holographic glitter throughout. I'm not sure how many coats it would take to become opaque because I stopped at 3.

I later added WnW Hannah Pinktanna on my accent nails. Hannah is a magenta jelly with micro holographic glitters and it is also sheer. I layered one coat of this over 2 coats of Brilliant on my accent nails.

Be sure to check out the other Twinsies for their holographic polishes. Twinsies, I'm sorry my post was late.

Memorial Day "NOTD"

Happy Memorial Day! I'm grateful for all the men and women who sacrificed their lives while serving for the United States Armed Forces.
This was just a quick nail look done in honor of Memorial Day. I used WnW French White Creme, Shades of the Season Blue and Red (they don't have official names) and Jordana Sequins as it is the only glitter I has red and blue. If my lines were a little straighter I would like this a little more.

52 Week Challenge - Week 22 - Splatter Mani

This week's challenge is a splatter manicure and now I know why I haven't done this before. It is a PITA to do and clean up. I didn't have a small coffee straw to work with and a regular straw was not doing the trick so I kind of shook polish over my nails or blobbed it on randomly. This got really thick and really goopey. Clean up took SO long and to be honest, I'm surprised I got my nails looking this clean. I'll probably try this once more with actual small coffee straws but that will probably be the last time. Besides other bloggers participating in this challenge, has anyone tried a splatter manicure?

This challenge was created by I'm Simply Complex and I found out about it from I'm Still Thinking.

Matte Pink & Shiny/Glittery Accent

Sometimes when I post pictures of my manicures, the pics are taken specifically for the purpose of the blog. That was my intent with yesterday's Matte Magic post. Then I ate dinner and I was actually liking matte*n*a Fairytale as a matte polish.

So for my Saturday NOTD, I decided to just change the accent nails and keep the matte pink. On my  accent nails is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Exotic Green with one coat of Milani Gems. Then on my thumb, I have Island Girl Aloha Surf. These glitters look similar to OPI Rainbow Connection. Now I don't own Rainbow Connection but Swatch and Learn has a great comparison post on Rainbow Connection compared to Gems. From the looks of it, if I layer Gems and Aloha Surf together, it looks pretty close to Rainbow Connection.

It should be said that Matte*n*a Fairytale had awful tip wear. I painted on it Friday evening and Saturday morning I looked at my hands and it looked as if I wore for days instead of overnight.

Influenster - Truvia Brand Challenge Winner

After receiving the Influenster Love Vox Box in the beginning of March, I reviewed the items here on my blog and on the Influenster site. As it turns out, I won the Truvia Brand Challenge and here is my prize. I was so excited because I never win anything. I'll be taking the Truvia with me to Florida next week so my dad can try it out.

For more information on becoming an Influenster, check out their site.

These items were received as a prize from the Influenster team. I am not affiliated with Truvia.

ASBMF - Matte Magic

The next theme or challenge for ASBMF is Matte Magic. I own one matte polish and this is the first time I'm using it. This is Cherimoya matte*n*a Fairytale. I'm sure anyone could guess why I love this color. It applied nicely and I don't mind the VNL. For my accent nail, I tried to get "creative" and used China Glaze Up All Night. I mattified (ok, not a word) that using Hard Candy Matte-ly in love. Because I added my matte top coat too soon, there was a little dragging so I added a streak of Fairytale to cover my mistake up. (Confession: My color theme for this manicure was based on Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Camp Rookie uniform. I was watching DCC: Making the Team.)

Brand: Max Makeup Cherimoya
Line: matte*n*a
Color Name/Number: Fairytale/MNA24
Finish: matte
Number of Coats: 2
Top Coat: no
If I saw these in stores again I would probably pick up a few more just because of the theme of these polishes. The line is matte*n*a and all the polish colors are named after a genre of movie.

Hannah from Polished Prisms created this challenge.

X Out Nail Project

I was contacted by Jamie, the manager of Public Relations at Guthy-Renker, to participate in a nail art project for the acne brand X Out. "X Out stands for confidence and putting your best (breakout-free face) forward." For every one post by nail bloggers, X Out will donate $200 to Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center. This national organization helps to prevent bullying.

Here are the pictures provided for inspiration.

And here is my nail design. I used Sally Hansen White On, LA Colors BCC-569 (blue), Sinful Colors Dream On, Wet n Wild Black Creme and Claire's unnamed Glitter (blue and purple).

Pink Wednesdays - China Glaze Good Witch?

Today I have China Glaze Good Witch on for Pink Wednesday. Good Witch is a soft pink with pink micro glitters. It doesn't have a gritty touch. This polish is from the Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection from 2001. It is supposed to represent Glenda's dress. It does remind me of Glenda and makes me want to watch Wizard of Oz. I layered Good Witch over Sally Hansen Rose Wine and Essie Pink Diamond.

If anyone wants to see Good Witch by itself let me know.

Twinsie Tuesday - Ombre Nails

Well it's Tuesday again and of course that means it's Twinsie Tuesday!!! This week's theme was ombre nails. This time I did it the correct way. Of course everyone expresses themselves differently. What I think is most important when doing ombre nails is going from dark to light. Once again finding polishes that are in the same color family and finish is more challenging than I would expect but here's what I came up with.
I used Sinful Colors Cabana, 10 Professional Pink-a-boo, 10 Prima Ballerina, SC Easy Going.
Then because Cabana looked too red compared to other pinks I added SC Scandal over. Cabana + Scandal is in the rest of the pictures.

Check out the other Twinsies to see their Ombre nails!
