Pink Wednesday! Dipped nails

I need to start getting my Pink Wednesday posts up earlier. Today I used Wet n Wild Megalast Sugar Coat, Wet n Wild How I met your Magenta and Sinful Colors Cream Pink. All together I used 4 coats of Sugar Coat and 1 coat of each HIMYM and Cream Pink. (I thought the two colors were similar cause I saw the gold sheen in the bottle of both, but they are different - I may do a comparison soon.) Alright, well I got to get to seminar. Thanks for reading.

What shade of pink did you wear on your nails today?

Mini Walgreens Haul - Wet n Wild .99 promo

So last week noveau cheap posted about the Wet n Wild .99 cent promotion at Walgreens and I got instantly excited! It's a great time to stock up on some great items while on a budget.

(from left to right) How I met your magenta, 9.0.2.1 Orange, The Gold and the beautiful
2% milk, Sugar coat. (front) black eyeliner and cotton candy lip gloss.

I've only used 3 of the items I purchased so far. 2% milk (posted pics and a review prior to this post) 9.0.2.1 Orange on my toes and the lip gloss. The lip gloss looks like it might be BAM in your face pink (not that I would mind) but its sheer.

The promo is going on from 8/28 to 9/24 on Wet n Wild products that are originally priced at $1.99. I will definitely be picking up some more products during this promotion.

What are you planning on purchasing or stocking up on from this .99 promo?

notd/review : 2% milk

So looking at my nail polish collection I noticed that I mostly had bright colors. Which is completely fine because that's what I love. However, I felt it was necessary to add some toned down colors to my collection because I never know when I'll take another job (such as Disney *finger crossed*) where nail color should look "natural". I hauled at Walgreens for the .99 cent Wet n Wild promo (haul post coming soon) and picked up Wet n Wild megalast 2% milk.
3 coats, no top coat.

2% milk is a gorgeous milky beige, a sheer color and with 2 coats is a bit streaky. It has a wide/short brush and the formula isn't too runny. I can see myself purchasing it again if I run out because I can picture plenty "French manicures". Come to think of it, I may go get a back-up.

notd : call you later 24/7

A few nights ago I was chatting on twitter with Jess (GLAMz0mbiie) and she posted a pic of her current mani and she had this gorgeous green on. I asked her what she used she told me it was Sinful Colors Call you Later, and to my surprise I had the same green in my collection. (bad nail blogger)

I was also on the search for 24/7 a very bright pink by Sinful Colors after seeing nolitoshy's swatch post. My first trip to Walgreens they didn't have it. I went again the next day, and was picking up random pinks and there it was under 'oasis'.

I came home and attempted to be creative with my mani.

I used 3 coats of 24/7 and 2 "coats" of Call you later and 2 coats of a clear polish. 24/7 applies streaky. I would have 4 coats but it probably would have took longer to dry.

new hair "tint"

I haven't dyed my hair since last October. I went a dark color, so I wouldn't have to worry about the upkeep due to personal reasons. Overtime, the color faded and I had lighter ends. I've been itching to dye my hair again and didn't want to do a lighter color since summer is almost over. I opted to for a nice "fall" color. I used Clairol natural instincts creme 23R (Rasberry Creme/ Medium Auburn) I knew I wouldn't get the color on the box (except for my ends, possibly) so I wasn't too shocked when I only had a tint of color.
This is the results (in my normal-hanging-around-the-house hair do). Still mostly jet black (except for when I'm in the sun). When I straighten my hair and remember a camera, I'll snap a pic then.

Overall, I guess this post was kind of pointless, but I wanted to update my blog (as I procrastinate on my schoolwork)

Small Coupon Haul

The honey and I went to Wal-Mart (with his brother and mom) today to pick up a few needed items. I clipped some coupons to see if I could find any deals that were worth purchasing.
All items in picture were purchased with coupons :) The Clairol hair dye was $6.92 each but I had a coupon of $5.00 off of 2. The Bic razors were $4.47 and I had a $2.00 off coupon. Aussie 3 minute miracle was $2.84 and I had a $1 off coupon. The Skintimate shaving cream was $2.24 and I had a .55 off coupon. (I also used 2 coupons on food purchase) In total with all coupons, I saved $10.30. :)

Then I went over to Walgreens and the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara (with bonus Revlon Eyeshadow) was already marked down from $7.99 to $4.79 plus I had a $2 off coupon so in total I paid $3.06 (including tax) for the mascara and eyeshadow. The total savings was $5.20

Yay for coupon shopping.

purple gradient

So this started out as a two-tone but I ended up adding a 3rd color for a "gradient" effect. I used SC I love You, SC Daddy's Girl and CG Spontaneous

lesson learned...

no cutting (although I was aiming for a "trim") my hair while it's curly because it results in unevenness. I guess if I must have my hair trimmed, I should fork up the money and have it done professionally. But I haven't had a salon hair trim since 06?

My "mother-in-law" tells me the more you cut your hair, the more it grows. I wish this was true for me. The last time I had more hair hacked off (to this length) was in 08 and it took FOREVER to grow. Of course, I didn't spend a crazy amount of money on "magical" products or follow any rigorous hair routine. But whatever.

My desired hair growth length is down my back, so when my hair is curly it hangs below my shoulders.

current nails - minted & for audrey

I painted my nails with Revlon Minted and my accent nail is China Glaze For Audrey.

My Ultimate Cleansers Tag

I was watching Aladynevertells (Lia's) newest video "My Ultimate Cleansers Tag" I mentioned in my comment that I don't have a specific facial routine so it wouldn't be effective to a video but I could do a blogpost. Then this morning she tweeted me and said I should do a blogpost about the cleansers I use. Therefore I was tagged do it, right?

Anyhoo, like I mentioned I don't have a intense facial routine. in the past I've used products like Noxzema, neutrogena, Clean & Clear and even store brands. I buy whatever my pocket can afford at the time. Currently, I am using two products interchangeably. The products I am currently using are Palmers Skin Success Eventone Complexion Soap and Purity One-Step facial cleanser.

Palmer's Eventone Complexion Soap was purchased while I was in Puerto Rico on a budget. I paid under $4.00 at a farmacia up the road from where we stayed. I originally picked this soap out because I was worried about my face becoming two-toned from the harsh sun. (I didn't want a really dark forehead and normal colored cheeks.) It cleans my face well and doesn't have a harsh odor so the smell doesn't burn my nose. Only bad thing is my face feels dry afterwards but when I was in PR, my face was super oily and that was a better alternative.

Philosophy Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser was purchased for me by my dad from Sephora. Its gentle and cleans thoroughly leaving my face soft and with a good fresh feeling, not at all drying. A little bit goes a long way with this product (and that's good sense its so expensive). I use this on the days when I don't use the complexion soap.

So that's it. Plain and simple.

whats on my nails

Last night I painted my nails with Sinful Colors Unicorn. It's a creamy pale yellow. It goes on streaky and it took me 3 coats to become opaque. I don't own many yellows in my collection but I think this one is nice for summer or spring. I applied 1 coat of OPI Teenage Dream over Unicorn as my accent color. no top coat was used.

1 item crossed off my wishlist

Thanks to my lovely friend Yuilya. She surprised me with a birthday package. She sent me OPI Teenage Dream :) I instantly swiped the polish on my thumbnail and was overwhelmed with the "bling" (that's how I described it to my boyfriend)

Thank you so so so much Yuilya!!
